How are drains blocked - What methods are used?
Hydro Jetter
Using a hydro-jetter, high pressure water is forced through a flexible hose which
can negotiate most bends and has the ability to travel in
excess of 60 metres through a drain.
We have a range of nozzles for all types of drain blockages (ranging
from roots to silt and debris).
When the high pressure water roars through the special nozzles
the water is transformed into cutting jets which cut through
stubborn drain blockages.
The hydro jetter has the capability to tear deposits from
the pipe walls and floors, shear through minor tree roots,
leaving the pipe over 30% cleaner than other method's e.g.

Drainage Rods
This requires a series of rods that are joined together with
various attachments and can be used to plunge or free a blockage.
The use of drain rods are time consuming and have difficulty
in negotiating bends as well as not being able to pass through
household gully traps.
Electro-mechanical Machine
A coil of springs that can be joined together and feed into
the drain through a rotary machine. Various attachments can
be connected to the springs to tackle compact obstructions.
Viable if water access is limited.
