What is Pipe Patching?

Pipe Patching is a new technology in New Zealand. This repair system offers a revolutionary way of repairing existing drainage without the need to dig up the defective drain and area. Pipe Patching is a simple, very quick, yet effective solution which saves the inconvenience and misfortune of digging up your established property. This is also often the most cost effective permanent solution with absolute minimal disruption.

Why Pipe Patch?

Ground movement and pressure that pushes up against the pipes from the surrounding environment (approx. 1m3 soil = 1.Ton) can cause cracks, dislodgements and threaten the structural integrity of the pipe - root intrusion being one of the main causes.

Pipe patching strengthens the pipe

Pipe patching is a permanent solution which has a structural strength greater than that of the original pipe thus avoiding the pipe from collapsing and eliminating future costs and excavation. The pipe patch will seal the pipe avoiding infiltration and exfiltration and eliminating any further root invasion into the affected area.
Pipe Patching is rapidly increasing and becoming the preferred method of repairing drains and pipelines due to its cost savings and minimal impact to the social and environmental surrounding.

Technical Info

The Pipe Patch is prepared by mixing epoxy resins and then impregnating a piece of specialized material that is accurately placed and fitted around an inflatable packer. When positioned in the defective pipe the packer is inflated, the material begins to extrude excess epoxies which bond the existing pipe and material together, covering and sealing the defective pipe. The packer is then deflated leaving a smooth inner wall.

Re-lining

We now offer a number of new ways to repair and replace your drainage lines, with this method we are able to repair multiple faults in one!

How Does Pipe-Relining Work?

This new technology works on the same principle as a pipe patch. With conventional pipe relining it is necessary to line from the nearest access point to the defective area. With our system, we can eliminate the cost by more than 50% less over conventional methods due to the fact that we can reline the defective area only, this now becomes an advantage to us, providing our customers with the best quality, cost effective and latest quality repair system.
This method requires no digging which means it is ideal for drains under houses or your new driveway or garden or drains with multiple faults.
The benefits of Pipe Relining are:

  • Fast installation
  • Eliminate root intrusion
  • Prevents exfiltration
  • Seal open joints (Dislodged Pipes)and collapsed pipes
  • Restore cracked pipe
  • Reduces landscape damage
  • Prevents corrosion
  • No electricity needed
  • Eliminates re-instating costs
  • Minimal inconvenience to owner at all times
  • Generally it has a much lower overall costs compared to dig up and repair methods especially in congested, hard to reach access areas.
